i'm so dissapointed! in both florida's games this weekend, it's been a ref's dream to call and foul out their opponents! Malik Hariston from Oregon's 5th to foul out was the most flagrant!
I especially loved how during the replay which had the supposed foul off screen, the announcers were explaining how clearly you could see the foul, even though the shot was invisible.
of course if porter (Oregon) had been hitting his 3's like friday, it would have been lights out for the gators.
slightly bitter, but there are too many questionable calls in florida's favor to believe it was all fair.
crap!

Re: florida has it rigged!
Sun, March 25, 2007 - 3:55 PMI disagree. If the refs were making bad calls, it would be the subject of discussion between sports pundits and discussed during the analysis. The reality is that Oregon needed to foul Florida to prevent the inside players from dominating them. Fouls were also called both ways. Three of Florida's top 6 players has 3 fouls against them (Horford, Brewer and Richard). It wasn't indiscriminate or biased. I don't know if you are an Oregon fan or a Florida hater, but the game was played and called fairly, and the better team won.
"of course if porter (Oregon) had been hitting his 3's like friday, it would have been lights out for the gators."
Likewise, if the Gators were hitting free throws like they did Friday or Horford was knocking down his post shots like he did on Friday, it would have been an even greater lights out for the Ducks. If you revisit history, you got to revisit the whole story.
Anyway, assuming you are a Ducks fan, and I am a Gators fan, congrats on a great run and good game.

Re: florida has it rigged!
Wed, March 28, 2007 - 3:48 PMAnytime a call is questionable and it goes against my team I am totally upset and think it's the worse thing to ever happen and will talk about the biases...but as I watched the G'town game and they went to slow motion on the movement of that dude's pivot foot in the last seconds of the game it wasn't that big of a deal for me. I thought Georgetown would win no matter what.....maybe that's unfair but I am just saying how if that had happend with UCLA and Kansas and the Jayhawks had won on that call I'd be talking about how unfair it was for the next 17 years or so......
I am still spouting off on how I wish the reciever from the Tennessee Titans was 4 inches taller so they would've won that SuperBowl on the last play a few years back....
and I still talk about Tyus Edney's run down the court and basket in the '95 Tourney.... -

Re: florida has it rigged!
Wed, March 28, 2007 - 4:28 PMI am still ired over the off-sides call against Scott Young in the Eagles - Saints playoff game when the Eagles had converted a 1st down to get into field goal range at the end of the game to tie the score. We ended up punting and losing. I was mad at the refs and Scott Young for a month, but the reality is sometimes our teams take penalties or near penalties and the refs call it and it hurts. In the end, it all evens out. But, I would be livid if GT got that call against the Gators. But I'd also be mad at the Gators for not properly defending GT at a pivotal time. Blame abounds.

Thu, March 29, 2007 - 9:27 AMI am also a believer that missed calls usually even out in a game although I think that rap on Kobe a couple of weeks ago of throwing elbows was Gabbage!!! (that's how you spell it when you're mad)....but honestly when missed calls happen against MY team at a crucial time I am livid.... -

Thu, March 29, 2007 - 6:29 PMThowing Hebrew at me, eh? Of course, we have the market on gatorade. Hopefully we're still getting royalties from the Coca-Cola company so we can stave off the UK bidding war over Billy. -

Must be the multi-culturalism of being raised in Southern California...I picked up the yiddish at some Deli I'm sure....probably taught them how to use "jammin on the one" properly..... -

Fri, March 30, 2007 - 3:28 PMYou are all meshuggenah!!
26 hours and counting until the game. Not that I would change last year's results for anything, but I am nervous about UCLA's motivation. It's easy to come out raring to go when you seek vengeance. I wonder what Billy D. is doing to try and amp the Gators up to the same level.
